Instagram File Size Info

Instagram images come in two sizes generally. If you download your files from Instagram they are at most 1080x1080 pixels. Instagram can also save each image to your phone, these images can be up to 2048x2048 pixels, and these are the better images for printing.

If your images are 1080x1080 or smaller (sometimes they are 640x640) you should not get prints larger than 6x6.

If your images are 2048x2048 then you can get most any size up to 20x20, maybe even 24x24 if it is on canvas.

Downloading your Instagram Images

Ideally you want to use the images that are in the Instagram Gallery on your phone to make prints as these are the highest resolution images.

Share your Instagram Images to Google Drive or Dropbox

The easiest way to get your Instagram images onto your computer is to go to the Gallery on your phone (NOT the Instagram App), find the Instagram Gallery/Album and then select the images you want to download. Once you have them selected click on the Share Icon and then share them to Dropbox or Drive - so that you can then go to Dropbox or Drive on your computer and retrieve the images.

Keep in mind this will only give you access to Instagram Images taken with that phone.

Once you have saved the images you want to Dropbox or Google Drive, you can then use our ROES Ordering System to order your prints.

Use our Simple File Uploader

You can usually access the Instagram Gallery from our Simple File Uploader though it can be tricky to find it. On Android it should be in Documents >> Images >> Instagram. On an iPhone it should be in Photo Library >> Instagram.

Our Simple File Uploader is just a simple way to send us files along with your basic info and some instructions. There are no sizes or cropping or anything. If you just want to order one size, say a 5x5 of all then it is easy, but if you want multiple different sizes or quantities you should download the images on your own instead.

Downloading from Instagram

If you have to download from Instagram you will need to search google for an app to do this. There is one called 4K Stogram that seems to work well.

Keep in mind that when you download from Instagram you are getting a lower resolution file, either 1080x1080 or 640x640. This will effect image quality, we would recommend only getting smaller prints - 6x6 at the largest.

IFTTT - Save New Instagrams to Dropbox/Drive

A neat way to save Instagram images is to use IFTTT (If This, Then That). The cool thing about this is that in addition to downloading your own images you can also download images for a specific hashtag - so if you are at a wedding or party and people are using Instagram with a certain hashtag, you can automatically save all of those images to your Dropbox or Drive folder.

This only works for new images, so you can't download your old posts, and you would need to know the hashtag in advance.
